Pig 90 bridge/MQ Neck on a Blink 182 cover
« on: October 09, 2008, 04:13:24 PM »
I'm sure Blink arent too popular on a board like this but I love them anyway :P Was another Harmony Central Guitar Jam coverfest so its not me on bass or vocals. I think all the cleans were neck MQ with the volume rolled down and all the distorted bits are Pig 90 with volume full on. Into Laney GH50L as usual but no Rat this time :)

The distorted parts are awesome, they sound HUGE!

I never care for cleans with the volume rolled down, but these are really good (still clear/articulate). It's down to personal playing style anyway.

Yeah I dont really like proper cleans full stop, I always usually play with a bit of grit even if its meant to be properly clean.

Apparently not, I know loads of people who think its shite :o

Someone mastered the track, I think its a little bit too trebbly but other than that it sounds good http://www.thewindtunnel.com/Clips/whats_my_age_again.mp3%20(master).mp3

That "mastered" song sounds shitee, and it's way over 0dB most of the way through.

The original clip you uploaded sounds great! (apart from the obvious 'twuuuuuuuuunny three' blunder) ;)

I think he just compressed, limited and boosted the gain of the original mp3 I put up.

Not really on topic but I'm listening to this through my old creative computer speakers and its $%&#ing awful, they're such bad speakers. All dull with too much bass and no definition. I'm sure I'll feel the same when I upgrade from these creative t20s I have to some proper monitors, whenever that may be.

Sounds great Tom. Good result for a online cover.

The master sounds good to me and isn't clipping to my ears.
