Some great ideas guys, I was considering camo shorts, a sleeveless shirt, and a bandana, and be Dimebag, but I have a feeling that everyone will do that... Hmmm.

I could just say I'm Zakk Wylde instead if I do all the above but with a leather jacket haha.

i think you need to think outside the box, almost everyone will be in a silly wig doing the usual sorts of people.

 maybe a greek style marble statue (dress up in whites/creams get some face paint and stand still, do it naked if you dare!!) or a stick of brighton rock (maybe dress up in white again - but get some strips of coloured material going from head to toe.. and obviously you need a circular bit on top with some writing on

How short is your hair? If you have enough to backcombe it a bit you could put on some bad makeup and go as Robert Smith?

Went as Bruce Dickinson in the end, was pretty good, wore a sleeveless t shirt, black waistcoat, and jeans with holes, wasn't the most convincing, but everyone worked it out once I had told them :p

Next time I'm DEFINITELY going as Satch, got the perfect hat and shades. Just need a tight fitting black t shirt.

The only exception may be when i went with blue hands and a suit to a sci fi fancy dress a few years ago... too few people got that

tonight i had a quickly made cricket bat with blood stains... a white short sleeved shirt and a red name badge with a little patch of red by the pocket... the rule i made myself was that i had to drink every time someone said ' you have red on you'

not as good as a few years ago when i made my girlfiend a batfink costume with wings that  you could pull on a string to make them stand up... i made it from some cotton reels and some spare bamboo from the garden... and i had a  custume designer at the party who was very impressed... but i was more impressed when she told me she made brian mays trousers for his performance on top off buckingham palace.  she was currently working on that 'wicked' production and suggested i should really be in costume design!!!
