« on: November 14, 2008, 05:13:49 AM »
i am new to this forum i was introduced to BKP through a friend of mine who raved about them, i had a couple questions pertaining to a few different things, if any one could answer these they would be greatly appreciated.

1. i have a ibanez xpt 700 mahogany sides with a 5pc maple/walnut neck what bkp set or pickups would be suit this wood.

2. i want some basic computer based recording gear what should i look for in the beginner level, mainly to record guitar ideas.  would a motu ultralite fit what i would need plus a recording program(any suggestions) excluding mics and etc.(i got a few mics already).

thanks in advance

Hi, welcome to the forum.

1) What sort of styles do you play?

2) I use an E-Mu 0404 USB interface and find it very good. I've not tried others so I can't compare. It comes with some software to get you started.

1. Obviously you play metal. But what sub genre?  Death Metal = Warpig or Nailbomb.  Thrash = Painkiller or Miracle Man, Tech Stuff = Nailbomb.

2. Look for CakeWalk Guitar Tracks Pro 3. I got this to do some basic recording and it's done me very very well. Very cheap too.
