In the korina, quite a middy guitar, they work superbly.
Me like lots :)
Exactly! My McCarty is warm and clear and has lots of mids. The sort of 'relaxed' (no serious peaks) mids of the CS work wonderfully.
Interesting thing you said about the tone of the guitar changing. In how long a timeframe? When I got my (second hand) -02 McCarty, it sounded great already. That's why I bought it of course! But now that I've had it for a couple of years (and it's been played a lot), the tone has changed slowly. It hasn't become darker, but it has somehow relaxed in the mids. In comparison, I feel like it was a bit stiffer when I bought it. And yeah the change has been an improvement 8)
My strat on the other hand, I've had it less than a year. I haven't noticed changes in the tone of that guitar yet, and I don't think I will. It was built in 1990 and has already been played in. The strat has BKP 'No. 1' -set in it btw.
