Parker, Tom Anderson, Suhr, Tyler, Hamer, Dean, CS Fender, Gretsch...Hell, even the solidbody Taylor Custom (it is called a Custom, right? The £2k one?)
They all sound higher and not lower. Than a £950 Mira anyways. But what do I know.

They are. I didn't say they were cheaper guitars. I think you're getting a far better instrument in those brands than the comparably priced PRS instruments.

Regards the Miras and the price you can get CE series guitars for now, I'd much rather an SG or an LP studio, and I still think Gibson are overpriced

OK, fair enough, you're still talking high-end, high-price equipment, and not necessarily like-for-like alternatives to PRS. Anderson, Suhr and Tyler are amazing, but they're obviously in the Fender bolt-on style rather than Gibson set-neck.  Parker - amazing innovation but they do nothing for me, personally.  And of course Gretsch are something else altogether.

I've never tried a US Dean so I've no idea what they're like.  I had a quick look at the Taylors, great but I'm not crazy about the specs or styling.  And the PRS vs. Hamer debate is another thread, close call but I think it's very much a matter of personal taste - as are all these comparisons.   :)

Everyone knows what I mean with guitars just not speaking to you at all. And it's simply that every single PRS I've ever played is like that.

Again, fair enough.  But I'd say the same about most of the Hamers I've owned.

I think it's personal preference, not that PRS make worse guitars than the others you've named.

Absolutely. I'd have thought this was assumed. I have "Unless otherwise stated, assume everything above is preceded with IN MY OPINION" in my sig on a couple forums, but I think we're sensible enough here that that isn't required

Of course it's assumed, and I'd be the first to say "Yes of course I'm giving my opinion, I can't give anyone else's".

But in the earlier comments you seem to be saying more than just "PRS isn't my thing".  You seem to be saying they're actually Bad Guitars (IYO, naturally).

I do think that, or at least, I think they're mediocre guitars that ask the price of very good guitars. But I'm perfectly aware that that's my opinion and plenty folk will disagree  :) Like a guitar put together out of very good parts, but finishing touches and built by a carpenter rather than a luthier. I think that's a decent summation of what I feel.

Fair enough!  Sounds like you're in the minority on this forum though as we're all PRS fanboys

S'arlight! Most folks don't like Parkers and I've got two.

Still, we have plenty fanboys of the guitar I'm waiting on at the minute...

Something I've made a point of not mentioning

I'd actually quite like some opinions on what pickups I want to stick in it, but it's construction would be a give away.
