22 frets vs 24 frets

of course... stupid question...  :)

enough to buy BOTH of them. not enough to sell one...  :P
Mule, MQ, Stockholm, CS, RY, MM, PK, ANB, CNB, AWP, CWP, PiG90...

too many? ;)

My number 1 guitar hasn't changed in 8 years or so - even with the addition of a Fender Strat Plus and a Yamaha SG2000.

This is my Gibson Les Paul Classic, with Emerald pickups.

Nice Goldtop!

Fretboards were the same, IRW, by the way. The TRC is a BaM forum one, original was a black metal 25th anniversary one although getting an IRW TRC cut is no big deal.

The CuRo 24 cost me a stupid amount of cash... even importing it from the US, used, myself. As I prefer playing the unfinished neck & flatter bridge the Cu22 had to go. It was an absolute tone monster, though, so in that respect I'll miss it.

EDIT: the PRS is still only my #2 guitar after the Blackmachine. Having 2 PRS Artist Packs would be kind of a waste. Especially as I use 7 strings more then 6 these days!

A-Pig 7s, Miracle Man & Mule, Cold Sweats... Expensive kit and no talent posse.

Here's the PRS

beyond doubt in a different league than any guitar I have ever owned. I replaced the 5 way with a 3 way toggle but that's the only mod I will ever need.

It's a CU24 artist, one of the last with the brazilian rosewood fingerboard

Nice!

You got the stock HFS/VB set in that? I suggest a set of Cold Sweats as a like-for-like, they destroy the PRS pickups!! ;)

I have been really happy with the stock pickups, especially the neck although I know I am probably in the minority.

I have a cs neck in my les paul and it's def my favorite neck pick up ever, not sure about the cs bridge because every ceramic pickup I have tried I have found too bright / harsh (even the MM but that could have been my amp). I think I am an alnico kinda guy.

I think PRS pickups are very good, the people there know what they're doing.  We tend to get carried away on here, saying everything needs replacing with BKPs, but there are loads of other great pickups in the world.

Having said that, I am replacing the pickups on my Mira - with Cold Sweats as it happens - because the stock ones are just a little too warm and vintagey.  I want it to be more of a rocker.
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

... which brings us back to the good old wisdom: EVERYTHING needs replacing with BKPs ... sooner or later anyways.

Yeah, I'm not convinced of that fact!  I'm sure an original '51 Nocaster or '59 Les Paul will do OK as standard  ;)

My n°1 is my LP 53',converted in SB 58' with PAF's.The sunburst finish is really not the most striking (more orangy)but the sound is incredible. But i have no pic,at the moment.. :?But the one i play the most is my Contreras and ,right behind,my Gurian.

Well here's my No1

PRS SC245 one of the last artist packs they made i think, they stop offering AP in May 08 (my tag is dated 30/05/08). As it's a 2008 It has paua shell outline bird inlays, Macassar ebony fretboard & headstock overlay.

The top is not as immediatly impressive as some of the PRS tops, but the more you look at it you realise just how complete the tight flame is with absolutly no breaks or dead spots

Sounds great and feels great.

It did remind me just how good the tremonti SE I have is, which plays just as well but doesn't sound anywhere near as good (might be time for some new pups)
