The guitar it should be is the my Viper 400 (C-Pig + MQ) as it's pretty damn perfect in every way and made of pure awesome. However the guitar I pickup more than any other is always The Table. The poor thing has been butchered, stripped, had it's innards replaced multiple times and is on the whole treated rather badly. It also has the most bizarre PU combo in it ever (nailbomb bridge, mother's milk middle and stormy monday bridge in the neck position...). I almost sold it a few months ago, but happily I changed my mind. Love it.

I posted mine before, but since then I have spent a bit of time with some paint stripper and removed the grey paint from it. It was starting to lose it anyway from over-enthusiastic sliding and picking, so an hour with the paint remover and it now looks like this

I have not lacquered it, so it will now age gracefully, I hope.

Great guitars these Buskers. www.buskerguitars.co.uk

Still my #1, only even more so!

seriously!! the only guitar you have is an organic soon to be joined by a Gus.... awesome!!! ;)

Yeh, I used to have a strat, gretch and jackson but now I just want to have a couple of guitars which are great quality and will get played regularly. Can't wait for the gus, it will be hard to put down.

Well, for me she is 'No.1' - albeit customised to my preferences, with ( amongst other things ) B.K.P Manhattans of course !   :)

You have 2 neck pickups?

Yes Dave, I was originally going to have the Stormy Mondays gold covered - but there was some  delay in the gold plated covers being delivered. Realising that I was really more comfortable with the switch to archtops  and small solid state amps, I just knew somewhere up the line I would have to try at least one Manhattan - every bit as much as much as a player with 'specialist interests' in the other direction would probably hanker to try an overwound  set of ceramic Warpigs.

As I had sold some other smaller stuff to my 'dealer' - I thought I would take the plunge on a pair ( so the guitar did not just sound like a standard humbucker guitar in 'fancy dress' ) - and that way I still had the Stormies on hand if I ever needed to kit out a chrome / nickel hardware Jazzer.

However, after hearing these - and enjoying the dramatic reduction in rig size - even the Stormy Mondays and Mississipi queens will probably get sold .  The Mules are the Les Paul - and the Manhattans are the archtop.

After the S.G. and the valve amps have ( hopefully ) sold ; then the Les Paul and even the Baja tele could go next. The Tanglewood 335 copy covers a lot of bases - and sounds good even with the stock pickups, in the rare event that I ever should get asked to gig in the previous Soul Band / Blues style  ; - and now I have grown to enjoy the " one guitar, one amp and a lot of learning to do "  ethos ; the Manahattans where my ticket to the future.

I needed a solo project to work on - and not have practice / focus based on some fantasy of gigging ( as I used to do ) again.  It still fits the criterea of expanding into a duo / trio idea if ever the chance arrises - and at 50, the chances of ( eventually ) being asked to play a few things after dinner in a year or two - are more likely than being asked to join another band.

Appologies for the slight 'amp' sidetrack - but If you think the guitar / pickups were a change, here is the 100 watt 'stack' I now use :

- To put it in perspective - I think Oscar the cat is taller !

I am sure the good Mrs Twinfan knows where I am coming from and going to on this one - as it's really quite like learning the piano ...

I Blame it all on TwinFan for introducing me to Cleartone cables ...

Cheers !

You really do seem to be having a "Road to Damascus"* experience, Derek!  I just can't imagine getting rid of old favourites (or even new not-so-favourites  ) like that.  It must be a liberating feeling though!  :)

BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

I feel I know Saul's perspective  better after recent events  ...  :)

It does indeed feel very liberating - and as keep I forgetting to mention, VERY relaxing; less 'Pink' - and more 'Audrey Hepburn' ...  8)

As you yourself once put it beautifully Phil, " it ( Jazz ) - seems to be more about the man and the music ".  Spot on there Phil !

Here is a link to my guitar guys. I think I already posted pics, but website has been revamped and is worth a look. My guitar is the 'Custom' as pictured, the other is the new Oli Brown Signature Model. The website will develop as further examples are added.

My guitar has BKP Crawlers and Oli's has custom wound BKP P90's.

I really like the 'Custom' - very oppulent but yet classy.  I can imagine it feels very intimate to play - and sounds lovely and rich.  Cosmetically I much prefer the 'Custom' to the Oli Brown, especially in the horns / cutaway area - as the darker wood and grain pattern of the Custom's horns - make them look less like rabbit ears.

Blimey, and they say Patrick Eggle's are the British PRS

Nice guitar's and I agree with FF, think I prefer the Custom.
Advice worth what you just paid for it.
