Nailbombs are the nuts!
« on: February 07, 2009, 10:45:36 AM »
Last week, Mules were the nuts.

This week, Nailbombs are the best pickups ever.  Ever.  They do everything.

... although I seem to remember thinking the same thing about Mules last week...

Go Nailbombs!

i love them too, but for strange reasons most player don't even consider them... maybe because they sound too "open" and organic for modern, ultratight metal riffing, and too aggressive and sharp for more vintage-oriented players... i think i'll get another set for my ibanez SA prestige... i used to love its SD JB/Pearly Gates setup but a voice in my head keep saying NAILBOMBS! NAILBOMBS! every time i look at it... :)
Mule, MQ, Stockholm, CS, RY, MM, PK, ANB, CNB, AWP, CWP, PiG90...

too many? ;)

I think Nailbombs are thought of as the in between of the Miracle Man and the Warpig. So it's easily overlooked.

I'm considering a ceramic nailbomb for my next guitar!

Something a bit tamer than my c-pig, but clearer and still pretty brutal

There was a time a couple of years ago(?) when they used to get recommended in just about every rock/metal thread!  :P

We seem to go through phases on the forum.  Not so long ago everyone used to rave about the Cold Sweat neck but the bridge was completely ignored - now it's almost flavour of the month.

The one that seems to get most consistently overlooked is the Emerald, for some reason.....

Well their Matthew Bellamy's choice pickup so thats gotta speak volumes, also the reason why I wouldn't have anything else in the bridge for me new guitar.

Yeah everything does go in cycles. The Nailbombs are great pickups, but then so is the rest of the range.

Not to take credit/blame for the recent resurgence of the Cold Sweat bridge but I have definitely been recommending it a fair bit.

The Mules were also too bright in my old LP Custom...

Damn I love BKP's.

Never tried the Nailbombs though!! Judging the sound
clips they sound pretty damn great.

I am getting more and more impressed by my Nailbombs. I must do some recording some day and put up in the playersection.
