That laney klipp looks awesome! anywhere i can get some info about them? I'm amp shopping too and need something loud with a good clean channel, how would that bad boy sound?

Klipps are loud and mainly clean, like a Hiwatt.  My Klipp pumps out 120w clean  :o

They were only made for a few years in the early seventies and there's not much info about them on the web.  The Klipp channel is like the clean channel with a fuzz pedal in front of it rather than a Marshall-like distortion sound...

Cheers guys, certainly got some food for thought there. I'll check out your suggestions and report back when i've found some clips... got to try and narrow it down somehow! :)

If you're interested in a Laney Klipp, then certainly take a look on ebay for a 1970's 100W Selmer treble and bass. Probably slightly higher build quality than the Laney. A very loud, clean amp that is moddable into just about whatever you want (in terms of pre-JCM900 Marshalls) by anyone who calls themselves a tech. Also much cheaper than a Laney Klipp (just not as fashionable just at the moment).

Here's some info on the Selmers - http://www.vintagehofner.co.uk/gallery/gallery3/sel4.html
