How's the X2N in the 5470?
I've played it in the store, but with the standard pickups and the 09 strings it is seriously schmuffy (yeah! inventing words rocks!)

Actually it's a D-Activator X bridge and D-Activator neck that's on there :) Very happy with those pups on there, pretty loud and "djenty" for a DiMarzio and more character than the stocks it had. Not quite similar to the C-pig but pretty darn close to a beefier and clearer EMG81 without the "clanky" sound emg's seem to have. The other way to describe the D-X bridge is a mid-bass focused X2N.

Hmm now you made me wonder if a C-pig might not be a good option, is the clean on that useable? I tend to go for a more vintage style clean, so nice and warm with a shimmer :) which is again hard to combine with a good tight gain pickup..
