*Cough*
Yes, you can tell you like a really embarassing band  :P

I have been enjoying Katy Perry recently, I still hate the kissed a girl song though

I like her and this music.... like some pop-radio songs, specially because on work we listen radio all day, even being "the rock radio", that's MTV rock...

EDIT: Tom, whilst I've only heard the lead single, it would suggest the new Lily Allen album could be a cracker. That song wipes thefloor with the majority of things tat get mentioned in the now listening thread, in my book.

Yeah I like The Fear. I havent heard anything else off that album. Take What You Take off Alright, Still is a great song :) So catchy.

I'm resisting the urge to find an acapella and 8-bit one of them up

edit - $%&# it, the acapella for Smile has been downloaded. It's only a matter of time.. :\

Wow, there's so much I like.

Abba (great taste TF !)
ABC
The Jackson 5
Hannah Montana (Miley Cyrus)
Earth Wind and Fire
Aqua (remember them ! - Barbie Girl)
Girls Aloud

etc, etc.

i love all sorts of pop/disco/dance as well as guitar-orientated music.

Oh, recently getting into Enter Shikari - awesome !

At my age, you don't really get embarrassed by those things.

I feel no guilt over any of this stuff, but...

I agree with Twinfan and others, Abba - superb stuff (I even like the Mama Mia dvd that the missus forced me to watch ).

I am and always have been a big devotee of The Bee Gees (along with Frank Sinatra, Glen Campbell, Johnny Cash, and so on, their 60s and early 70s stuff was my BIGGEST early musical influence).

Possibly going against popular opinion here, but still no guilt, I also rate Cliff Richard big-time (I agree he's a bit sickly to listen to talking though...).

And I love all things McCartney... (including the Frog Chorus...)

Finally, still no guilt here, I have a certain appreciation for, not sure what you'd call it, it is kinda 60/70s country based ballads. For example:

"Honey" - the Bobby Goldsborough version, still sends the good ole shivers down the spine when I even think of the last verse...
"No Charge" - I can't remember who had the hit, but it was well cheesy, and I loved/hated it all at the same time
Various Kenny Rogers songs "The Gambler" (love that one), "Lucille" (ditto), "Coward of the County" (I think the songwriter was possibly trying too hard on this one ).
Dean Friedman - must get a CD of some of his stuff
Etc, etc...

(RAWK! hell yeah!)
