Yo!

Here are some pedals i need to fully finish me set up:

(probably analogue) Delay
Phaser
Reverb
maybe a tremolo

Anyone got any recommendations? I tend to like quite boutique/obscure stuff, but nothing too gimicky, just good top quality sound please! And preferably nothing that you can just buy in everyday shops (i.e. boss) cos i'll try them myself if i havent already!

Cheers!

Missed this one -

I use the Line6 DL4, it's OK and has a great loop sampler that's fun, and it has the option of sounding like a dirty analogue delay or a digital, it also has a TC style dynamic delay where the repeats are reduced in volume when you're playing lots of notes/chords. Watch for the new HBE echo...should be nice!

Phaser - love my old 70s MXR. I think somebody posted a link to a site to get a new Phase 90 modded to script specs. The EVH phase 90 is a rip off...

Reverb......hmm - I never bother with reverb infront of an amp

Tremolo - nothing beats a real oscillating bias power valve trem as found on the old Brown fenders...lush

thanks HJM :D

Well i have a phase 90 clone from buildyourownclone.com, its a clone of the original script p90. It does the job alright, I was just wondering what else there might be out there.

Reverb - my amp doesnt have any now. I never used it that much, so I'm not too sure if i will get one in the end. Its nice to have the option, but im not certain if i'd use it that much. Same kinda thing with tremolo.

Delay - i had the electroharmonix 16 second delay, but sold it to some guy in italy cos i never really got on with it - it was a little complitcated at times...I dont really fancy spending £200 on a delay either. I am tempted by the keeley modded Ibanez AD9.
Are you still in touch with the keeley guys? Do you know if you can get this pedal in the UK? (only i emailed the UK guys a while ago and never got a reply  )

I'm not sure what's going on with Keeley UK...all very quiet at the moment!

For a basic delay there's the Digitech, and Line 6 small pedals, they're OK.

If you're using amp overdrive I'd avoid delay and reverb before the amp. If it's really important get an FX loop installed  - otherwise it'll be mud central!

Check out Monkey FX, awesome and not too expensive for boutique stuff either.

really? i could go without reverb no probs, but you'd recommend no delay ahead of the JCM800 without getting an fx loop installed? will it really be that bad?

The HBE Tramp is a very unit tremolo pedal.

I have an old Ibanez analog delay, but I got the Danelectro Reel Echo, which is very nice too and has analog and digital sounds.

I use an original Phase 90 or Phase 100 (I have both, but I usually only use the Phase 90 setting on the pahse 100!).

For external reverb, I have a Peavey rack mount Valveverb, that I bought new about 12 years ago.  It sounds very good and has all the controls of the Fender and does tremelo too.  I would really recommend it if you can find one.  They also look pretty cool as they are chrome with black chicken head knobs.

I have a Keeley AD-9, and while it does sound fantastic, my Line6 DL4 is very nearly as good, despite being an 'inferior' digital pedal.

I have a tele with Brown sugar pickups and the clarity of the guitar really comes through with the keeley, and I've used it into the front end of a JCM800 without too many problems. I was playing fairly clean, mind
