Tim warned me against a Cold Sweat in a Basswood guitar with a maple fretboard, I don't think ebony is different enough to change that opinion.

Interesting.....maybe Tim Might chip in & explain?
Tim explained it to me something like this: The fret is set in very hard wood (maple in my case, ebony in yours) and this gives a fast transient attack to the note, combined with the EQ and ceramic magnet  will not be a pleasant combination. He recommended either something Alnico (Holy Diver for example) or a hotter ceramic such as a Miracle Man or Painkiller.

Iīve got a Ibanez Jem with BKP Nailbombs, I had DiMarzio Evolutions and Breed Before. What do you wanna know?  :D

Nailbombs might work....what did you put in the mid position?

The original Evolution is in the middle - but itīs way too weak booth in volume and tone. Need something "stronger" to match the nailbombs.

OK, if I was to go down the BKP road would probably want a BKP single coil in the middle.
