Nah, I like them too much as guys, it was their tour manager's fault, really.

In fact, 99% of problems with bands are their tour manager's fault

This is the sort of talk that puts me off the whole band thing... and makes me want to join a covers band, heheh!

Guest lists should only be for people involved in the music scene/press, reviewers and photographers and the like.

Though then, many of the local places I've been to in my time would have been completely empty.

ive seen guest lists used for people who've traveled really far to a show, for people partners. ive seen promoters stress about money then let all their OWN friends in for free. that annoys me.

promoters have reputations and you hear about them. we played one place once and before the headline band started, the promoter had his coat on, and his bag, looking ready to leave. a swift "if you leave without paying us we'll f**k you up" comment from a few dudes in different bands and he was back chilling out.

what annoys me MOST is how people lick the balls on US touring bands, pay big guarantees for them, and screw over any local or other UK bands regardless of how many people that they bring to a show, and nobody sees a problem with that.

some record label person did want to get on guest list to come see us once. i ignored their request. they can pay like anyone else if they REALLY want to see you play.

I've got to be honest and say that I've not paid for a gig in Glasgow in years, bar literally one or two, and I'm generally at at least one a week.

A lot of the time I used to be reviewing, but nowadays I'll happily take a guestie and buy a shirt or CD and then a bands actually seeing my money anyway, rather than just getting the (generally tiny) guarantee.

Aye, i've paid for about 4 gigs in my entire life.

But then again, i was taking about £6,000 of camera equipment each time i went to a gig.
