which BKP for my guitar ( death metal!)
« on: March 18, 2009, 12:20:21 AM »
HI!
 :D
I wanted to ask you which BKP is GOOD for my guitar ( bridge position):
the guitar in question  is a ibanez prestige ( RG2570)

body :basswood
 and maple neck!

I'm looking for a BNP for play death metal ( no modern metal , no death-core etc etc...), but the problem is to
match a BNP pick up that work WELL  with  basswood body!

I need definition and ultragain  ( alnico V? )

can you help me?

im seriously interested to buy an BKP.. heheh

 THANKS! :P

Sounds like you need a ceramic Warpig.

ceramic is tighter and clearer, alnico is more organic... what kind of death metal do you play? stockholm, gothenburg, florida, none of the above...

I love these "I want BR00TALZ!!!!!!" threads. They're so easy. The whole board sticks their hand up and goes "Ooooo oooo, I know this one; C-PIG"

(Or maybe painkiller)

Although I don't have a CWP, I agree with the other posters that it's probably the best for DEATH metal.  Have a search for clips by Drac in Players... :)

Agree with MDV that the Painkiller would be an alternative - tight, powerful & handles detuning well.

Also, don't discount the Alnico Warpig - especially for slightly "doomier" DM ("Dreams of the carrion kind" by Disincarnate springs to mind).  If you want Obituary-esque sludge, you could even try a Holy Diver (don't laugh).

But for proper Death Metal in the style of Suffocation, Malevolent Creation, Cannibal Corpse, Nile, Cryptopsy (sorry for the list of old bands, it's a long time since I bought all the DM I could lay my hands on ) the CWP is the last word...

FWIW, read the sticky about the effects of different magnet types (including Tim's post about 4-5 down the thread about Ceramics).
