I've been keeping this one pretty quiet, but a few people know about it so let's drag it out in the open...
Some may have noticed that I've been bleating on for ages about getting a Gibson ES-339, despite the fact I'd resolved not to buy any new guitars this year. There don't seem to be any in the shops at the moment, so I thought I was safe... then this turned up on eBay:

It's 6 months old, but in as-new condition. The right colour, the right neck shape (fat '59) - I couldn't resist. I put in an offer a bit under the Buy-It-Now price (to convince myself I was being shrewd and driving a hard bargain  ), then took a trip to Hampshire to collect it.
So far, I am
loving this thing - it's not too big or too heavy, the neck feels great and the Plek setup makes it (relatively) easy to play. Acoustically it's quite bright but plugged in it really sings - the '57 Classics are fine and I don't fancy trying to replace them just yet. Yes, it's a Gibson and yes, there's the odd imperfection here and there, but suddenly I'm a semi fan!
Now where are those books with the "expensive" jazz chords in?
