Ooo that blue thing does look cute :D
I have a "thing" against mini-buckers though... In my last band, the bassist had a Les Paul goldtop with minis in it. It must have been a 70s guitar (or v early 80s at the latest), because I first saw it in 82 or so (he was my drummer's brother, and I met him years before he ended up playing bass with his brother).
Anyway, as he wasn't using it anymore, and hadn't for years, he decided to let the other guitarist use it. It sounded VILE!!
I was trying to figure out how to eliminate it from our line-up, when one day the guitarist brought it round my place and went, "do you think there's summat wrong with this Les Paul? I'm just not getting on with it...". I fell about laughing, it turned out he hated the thing as well but was too embarrassed to tell the bassist that his prized guitar was horrid. It was really hard to play (bad pro set-up, I guess, much had been spent on it a few months earlier), but the worst was the pickups were really thin, weedy, and screechy - even through my amp which was set up for single coils!
So me and mini-humbuckers have never been friends ever since, even the look of them makes me hear that old gold top! I'm sure there must be be good uns out there somewhere though
These specials and juniors are getting tempting again though...
Indy, I'd assumed your avatar had changed because you'd acquired that good looking guitar... is that not the case then? (seeing as V&R are still advertising it)
