It's my first time... be gentle! ;)

Not a ton of clips of BKP's in basswood guitars, so I thought I'd throw mine up here. Particulars are:

Recorded by: MerlinTKD (me!)
Pickup: BKP Painkiller (all slugs, no screws)
Position: Bridge, humbucking
Guitar: ESP/LTD M-207 (3 pc basswood body stripped of finish, maple/rosewood neck)
Amp: Line6 TonePort GX -> PodFarm -> Reaper
Tone/Song: Dirty=Big Bottom Patch, panned L & R; Clean=dual amped J-900 Clean w/ Chorus, Jazz Clean w/ Reverb

nice track. but try to increase the guitars in the mix and put the bass down in the mix. its too loud.

Very nice! agree bass is very loud turn down the bass and the mix should be pretty good,
Im getting a painkiller for my super strat soon stoked! awsome crunch your getting & tele like quality to the cleans

I did as you suggested and yes, it sounds much better! I'm still learning how to tweak the EQ for this pickup... it's got such strong upper mids, and in a way, so does my guitar... so getting a good snarl without devolving into fizz is a tough task! Still, it's so cool to get close to the sound I hear in my head, and realize the possibilities available with other BKP's... "oooh, what if I had gotten a Cold Sweat? Or a Miracle Man? Or a Holy Diver? What if I tried a Nailbomb in the neck? Or another Painkiller? Or what if..." It goes on and on and on, and I'm loving every minute of it!

Ha thats how i feel try some cold sweats you will love it one more thing about the mix you should try adding a little more treble to the bass drum so its a little clicker and turn the bass down on it its a little overpowering im just being super critical when im saying this but nothing better then constructive critisim!

Like i said great playing and im getting some painkillers for myself soon!
