What are they Bradock? Not my cup of tea but pretty nice looking.
I think I hate being indecisive.

Ian, have you sold your tele? If not, then Tiwnfan and myself found it's double for sale there!

I picked up some cleartones, I can really hear the difference, on first impressions chords with distortion are a tiny bit more defined, unless you guys have put a placebo effect on me, the silent jacks are rather nice too

since I haven't got uber gear I was skeptical I'd really hear much of a difference

I wanted to see dave on top of a 4x12 bashing out some ac/dc!!!

any one got a clue which model those mesa's were?

They are atlas custom guitars

http://www.atlas.dymani.com/

They just looked so nice friend tried the redwood one but he prefered the Rees S5 which he played for quite a while. I was sorta hoping I might see Legra and/or Feline there but I guess it is too far and the show format is far from ideal.

There were too many folks cramed in a smallish hall and no panelling to give some sound damping so no real way to hear or try anything. I woulda prefered for the show to be in a hotel with plenty of rooms and a hall where there was more space but I guess that may cost too much. It's the way they usually run HiFi shows.

I had a look around the Martamp stand and realised I had no idea what twin looked like although peeps were having fun with a tabbaco Strat.

Ah - were you the guy stood next to me for a little while as we checked out the Strat?  I was the guy stood next to you, Martin was sat down next to the amps and Shobet was going all Frusciante on us with the Strat  ;)

The Strat was nice, and after Shobet plying me with beer I nearly bought it.  But I didn't.  Here is exactly what I did by yesterday - I was very restrained!

6 sets of D'Addario 10s - £20
Lunch - £2.50
A coffee - £1
A Black Rat gigbag - £29

And for Bradock PI's benefit, here's me at a gig the night before the show.  I was well knackered yesterday!

You should have said hello you silly sod! It was an Fender badged ESP strat that had Twin and myself salivating a bit until Martin talked some sense into us! It was quite a nice guitar, but not £400 nice as the guy wanted.

Yeah it was very difficult to hear $%&# all in there so I couldn't really hear what I was trying. It was nice to see a £42,000 strat and I even got to handle a £23,000 LP Custom which was very weird, it was very, very light. On the whole though, most of the stuff there was not of interest to me, there was a lot of junk.

I had a really good time and will probably go next year. I'm also planning on going to the one in Liverpool later in the year as I'm told that's much bigger and better.

Yep, the Liverpool one is usually the best of the bunch.  I think it's in November.

Lots of cheap tat at Manchester I thought, and a lot of stuff not cheap enough.  No bargains whatsoever.

Glad you said that Dave. I was itching to go but knowing I would spend end up spending money.  Which at the moment I have not got.  My guitar pennies are all going in Johnathans direction at Feline till I get some guitars paid off. That said I will hopefully make the Leeds/Bradford one and the Liverpool one.

Martin,

Looks some tasty kit on that stall of yours.  Have you any plans to do any of the other guitar shows?

Thanks. (And thanks to Dave and Matt for allowing me to reposess their amps for the day!)  :)

I'm considering the Leeds/Bradford one. We'll see if I get any interest over the next week or 3.

Thought I'd start a fresh thread for this rather than continue Shobet's......

It's the Manchester Guitar Show this Sunday, 10th May:  http://www.guitarshows.co.uk/manchester.htm

I'll be there all day on the MJW (Martamp) stand with Martin, and a couple of my amps.  Hopefully that'll stop me from wandering around too much and buying things I shouldn't

If you're heading down please come over and say hello, it'll be good to meet a few BKP folks.  I'll be the guy in the MJW t-shirt with long hair, Martin will be the guy with short hair  ;)

Hope to see a few of you there  :D

Be careful, I see on the show website that Guitars4You are gonna be there. If they hear that you're coming, they'll bring all their RW necked PRSes :O)

I woulda said hello but at that point we were virtually on our way out as I had promissed John, the friend I was with, that we wouldnt be there more than a couple of hours.

My spend for the day was

Beer and sprite £4.30 (ripoff)
Picks £1
Fender Flip Flops £4 (for wife)

Maybe I will pop along to one of your gigs - when you did the bridgeclub you were only a stones throw from where I work.
