It's one of those guitars that's really ugly, but I'd still like to own one... if I could get it dirt cheap.  So I'll never own one.

Carlos Santana played one, for about 5 minutes:

BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

The L5S looks better, this is a Warmoth body on its design:

If it had double F hole I would be really in trouble

The Gibson L-5 (solid body) was a very nice guitar.More expensive than a LP,at the time;it was kind of Gibson's"top of the line".

Slightly off-topic, but has Carlos Santana ever endorsed an instrument he didn't call his "Rainbow"? I remember seeing ads for the Yammy SG-175, the Gibson above and the PRS with this exact line.

Carlos Santana played one, for about 5 minutes:

So did Al DiMeola

My Core Jazz is roughly based on this shape too (although it's more influenced by the L5-S than the L6-S)

I have always had a liking for the Gibson L6. I guess its the body size, as I find Les Pauls a bit small. But even the obscure Gibsons are out of my price range now. I seem to remember used ones of these, and things like Marauders, Challengers and Sonex's selling pretty cheaply not so long ago. Not any more!

I had a nice bolt on neck lying around, and some nice timber. I wanted to make myself an LP Jnr. I sort of combined the LP Jnr and the L6 into one guitar and came up with this. An LP Jnr with an L6 sized body.

Fun guitar, with a lairy 22K pickup in the bridge slot!!!
