Changing out pickups in a Les Paul

I hope this is the correct section for this question, im a newb here.

Got a warpig the other day, had my tech install it and was blown away. A day later ordered a calibrated set of painkillers due to aforementioned joy over the warpig.

Anyway im going to self install them into my les paul studio, and I'm not sure if i neednew pots and caps etc.

Can somebody give me an idea or atleast point me in the right direction?

All I know is that 500k pots are good enough, but if you want to go crazy (don't know about your music sense) you could go for 1meg pots.

I have 500k for my Warpig.

You won't "need" new pots or caps for the pickups.

Changing values of the pots and caps, however, will change the tone of your guitar. For example, increasing the value of the volume pots from 500 K to 1 M will give more top end.

Changing the value of the pots and caps is a relatively inexpensive way of fine tuning your tone, and I expect there are plenty of people on this forum who have put Painkillers into Les Paul-style guitars so you should get plenty of hands-on advice.

painkillers have furious treble attack. 500k should be fine!

i went to 300k in my steinberger, though thats of graphite/maple construction and unusuallt bright.
