Great demonstration of inlay work.

its the cover of the 2003 PRS DVD

one of the few inlays that doesnt look like a gaudy inlay  - it actually captures the subject matter quite well

still far to OTT though.

I wouldn't want to play it in public, but I'd have that on my wall :)

It's a fantastically skilled piece of work, I don't actually like the picture though!  I'd prefer a Chinese dragon.  Or a Welsh one!  :P

Not something I'd ever want to buy, even if I won the Euromillions.

At my current skill level, no, not a chance. But if I ever got good enough, then yeah. Sue's black Les Paul would probably be my current favourite for posing with :D

Twinfan is right.

The inlay work was not done by PRS, though. They outsourced it.

That's awesome

Not on a guitar level, on a more Art/Skill's level.

Mansons managed to procure 1 or 2 of those I believe, back when they first came out. Looks even better in the flesh! Think it was going for around £22'000. Definitely a good showcase of what can be achieved with Mother of Pearl, but way too OTT for me, even just as a show piece. Didn't they only do something like 10 of these worldwide?

i dont think its bad to outsource something like this.   They only need this kind of thing on a small number of guitars each year... and the people that do this kind of work are few and far between

incedently it would be a CNC inlay, not hand done.  not an issue really but doing something like this by hand would take a very long time and probably not be anywhere near as precise
