BKP Summer meet
« on: June 13, 2009, 10:22:37 AM »
Morning all. It was mentioned a while back that we would be looking at arranging a meet in the midlands at some point in the summer. Starting a new thread as I can't find the one that this was discussed on.

Can't remember who was going to look for a suitable location so would be good to have some thrown up here - a little bit cheeky of me as it won't be me due to me being based in the south!!

Whoops! Just realised I put this in the wrong part of the forum. Can it be moved to a more suitable location please!

Count me in for any meet! Happy to go to midlands, Manchester or London.

Are there any takers for organising a midlands event that know decent sized practice/rehearsal rooms?

There was talk of Birmingham I seem to recall.

I'm interested, depends on the weather as to whether I shall be working or not.

I think brum would be ok, would be nicer to have a bigger space than the London meet though

I live in Birmingham! I'm just gone most of August, so it would need to be before that.
Current BKPs: Miracle Man, Nailbomb, Juggernaut, VHII
Past BKPS: Holy Diver, Trilogy Suite, Sinner, Black Dog

Looks like a few of us are up for it so far. Any wlling volunteers from the midlands that have local knowledge of rehearsal rooms?

Would be a same if we couldn't get one organised in the midlands - I guess if we can't it'll be Manchester or London again!!

I'm happy to organise another Manc one if required, but it'd be nice to go somewhere else!

I work in a pub in Kettering, Northants and if it was a sunday or something I'm sure they'd be more than happy to let us meet up in the day or something. We could even open up to the public and have a BKP jam in the evening if anyone else was up for it. All we need is a decent drum kit and a bass amp. I'm more than happy to organise and if Tim and Co want to get involved and run it as an informal BKP promotion then that is fine too.

We have some good local ales available, a kebab shop one side of the shop, corner shop the other, decent parking and space to stash all the gear if needs be!

Paddy.
GREAT GOOGILY MOOGILY!

Sounds good Paddy - how would the day be organised? Would we have exclusive use of the room? If so how long for? The jam sounds ood but means I would need to get a lot of practice in!
