For delta blues check out Pristine Audio's remastering technique - alot of the dullness, crackles and scratches are stripped away bringing out the music, and especially the guitar - the Charlie Patton and Skip James are especially good comparted to the CD collections currently available.

Unfortunately no Son House as yet.

Y'know how when you play metal backwards, you're supposed to get satanic messages?

What do you get when you play the blues backwards?

Your wife comes back, you get your job back, your car and house are returned to you, your dog comes back to life and you sell your guitar.

Also Mississippi Fred McDowell - I Don't Play No Rock'n'Roll - is a masterly delta style slide album -
RL Burnside Mississippi Hill Country Blues is another corker.

I would suggest some Elmore James, Eddie Boyd, Lightnin' Hopkins, Lowell Fulson, Mississippi Fred McDowell, Otis Rush, Clarence  Gatemouth Brown, J B Lenoir. There are a number of great current young players too.
Send three and fourpence we're going to a dance
