What's people's expreiences with ESP guitars?

Not the LP copies but the superstrat styles please? I've got gas at the mo for one I've seen but I'm not sure (and may not go for it anyway due to cash), but I would like to know before hand.

ESP (not LTD) guitars are great.

I worship them. Own 2, wouldn't really want any other brand for typical production guitars, apart from maybe Musicman.

Their fretboards/necks are what does it for me.
My last FM.
ESP Horizon NTII.
ESP Viper Camo.
ENGL Screamer.

I've got an older ESP from back when the Eclipse was actually tele shaped. It's a nice guitar with a big fat neck on it. Lovely.

I played a nice old ESP Strat at the Manchester Guitar Show.  Almost bought it, it was very nice.

The only problem with ESP-proper (not LTD) is they're so often so overpriced, especially the sig lines. Dont even look sideways at the custom shop or your bank account will shite itself

The guitars themselves are fantastic by any measure.

(NOT Ltds, though, except some of the top end ones).

yo
id just like to say my LTD (EC-1000) is actually really nice. its built nice, neck is wider than my les paul but still comfortable. with a MM set replacing the active stuff it sounds real good.

there, that was my defence of my LTD, i guess its the higher end LTD though..

I really rate them. I've had an ESP Eclipse and two Edwards LP's (easily up there with the ESPs in quality terms) and they were all bloody lovely things. The two LTD Vipers I have currently are also brilliant, not as downright sexy as the others (certainly more workmanlike), but lovely sounding and playing things.

I mean, when i have to get the train, i dont mind putting the LTD in a soft case so its easier to carry etc. the les paul i worry about.
also, some shows we play have the potential to get rowdy, and depending on that, i wouldnt want my guitar getting smashed up, so i take the LTD. also if i have to fly with a guitar, i take the LTD.

the les paul gets used just as much though. so its ok. hahaha.
