Surely Fender need to make a production version of "La Cabronita".
Maybe Squire will make one, it could be the successor to the Squire '51

they really should.  imagine one of those priced for under £300 - hot cakes anyone

Count me in!

Although of course I would end up changing the neck, tuners, pickup, electronics... and it would cost me £600+.
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

On the Filtertron front - if you want an alternative to TV Jones check out Curtis Novaks variations on the theme:

Yeah a Squire would sell, the Fender prices are crazy  :o

Looks great in red, is it a one-off?

I've seen a red one for sale on a site in the US, so I would say no.

Unless it was the same guitar of course.....

oh, korina, nice. :D nice colour scheme too :) EDIT: i think the scratchplate helps, too. sparkle and a scratchplate look nice on the right guitar.

If you want a dead on ZZ-Top tone, go for a Powertron +. That's what the Rev Billy G has in most, if not all of his Flitertron equipped guitars.

I have a regular Powertron in my Gretsch. Lovely pickup. Big growly sound, a little less twangy than a Classic.

The plus version is overwound, too Gibby PAF for my taste.

I'd be tempted to go for a Powertron in the bridge of my Tele if the Broadcaster pickup I already have in there wasn't so perfect.

I'm tempted by the Powertron Plus, or maybe a regular Powertron.  I thought the Plus might be more PAF-ish than Gretschy, but that would probably suit me to be honest.

Wow, i've never seen that Fender before! cool!

I think it should have gretch style thumb inlays... I love those inlays.

just been having a play with the pickguard design, so here is a mockup with the paper template

probably just needs a little more curve on the back edge - but not too shabby!
