i hope within 4 weeks, although its sometimes hard to predict accurately.  this is the patience breaking time i'm afraid... a long wait without my usual updates!

No problem - it'll give me chance to sell the Ibanez RG to get the cash I'll be paying you with!

haha, half of me's going, "awesome, that paint job will be great", but the other half is saying, "but it looks so nice the way it is"...

nah, better with some paint i think.

now if we had gone for mahogany body or rosewood fretboard it would have looked awesome natural - just that bit more contrast between the maple neck and body wood makes loads of difference

I'm not normally a paint-fan - I prefer to see the natural wood colour & grain.

But having seen the mock-ups of the blue sparkle posted earlier, and become the fortunate owner of another Mike-painted, Wez-built guitar ... I think that one's going to look much better painted.

So, what's next Wez?

a few interesting things to keep me busy during summer.

* next one back from mike is a lapsteel that is getting painted in an off white pearloid effect to emulate the look of an old accordian .  its the one with the bigsby palm pedal i have shown off in its raw state before

* I need to finish the fretwork on my charity telecaster and add a headstock logo so i can get that moving foward

* i am currently focused on a through neck, fretless bass thats kind of an evolved EB0/LPJ design - still very classic and more like gibson should have made them (in my opinion, obviously)

* there is going to be a 14" scale 12 string mando guitar in a mini SG shape, its started but  not very far along

*just about to start something PRSish which should be interesting

*I also have the old handmade explorer and a 70's strat project  taking me down the vintage restoration path a bit more

loads of other ongoing projects too - but these are the ones with timeframes!

Do all those have buyers Wez?  Or are they experiments for you?

It's almost tempting to leave it natural all over.  Almost.  But I have one like that already  ;)

don't waste that beautiful wood grain... transparent blue would be great!
Mule, MQ, Stockholm, CS, RY, MM, PK, ANB, CNB, AWP, CWP, PiG90...

too many? ;)

completely off-topic, but TF said somewhere that he tried to listen to opeth and he couldn't dig the vocals...
this will help you greatly. :)

well i dont think TF is gonna let anyone spray the PRS spangly blue!!!

as for the esquire - it was going to be totally spangly blue, we decided to leave the back and sides natural because of the wood.

Too true, the PRS ain't being touched!

Wez and I talked about transparent blue on the back and sides, but we've gone with natural as a great contrast to the blue sparkle top.
