Hey up,

Has anybody tried these, I've just played a classic and it was impressivly resonant, really liked it.  I wouldn't even pick it up on looks, but my new philosophy is whichever guitar feels best and has the best acoustic tone I should go for.
I thought this compared to the Suhr's I tried, sort of half strat and half something else.

Not tried one, but the posh one with the inlaid top is so nice it makes me weep.

Tried a couple of the standards and a couple of the customs, I think they're both excellent guitars. We sold off the last of the standards for £549 which got you a superb guitar for the money.

Can't decide which one I like more as they're quite a different vibe, the custom actually does ard rock and metal tones really, really well, whereas the standard can be quite a moody, fenderish bluesy machine.

How come the last of them nfe, are they stopping making them?  Just looked on google and they are over 1K, were they definitely not the classic?

I'd have snapped your hand off, let me know if there's any more at that price!

Are they actually made in the USA, or designed by Taylor and built overseas?

Even at £1,200 (or whatever) they seem remarkably cheap for US guitars with proprietary pickups and hardware.  :?

The classic is 699 at Richtone music, I'm not sure where it is made but it all feels quality.

Sorry, I meant the classics, I was mixing them and the standards up. They're still in production insofar as I'm aware, it was the last of the stock bought before the prices shot up from Taylor that were going cheap. Pretty sure it was the last ones in the company I'm afraid.

No worries, I know where there's a few for around £700, still a great guitar for that money and a lot cheaper than when the price rises!

Nice!  I didn't realise they were swamp ash, I've only seen a white one before.  I love the look of swamp ash.  :D

Hmmm, starting to get a hint of GAS.  :(

Yes Dave, it was from Sounds Great.  It was up for £799 but I got it for £699 with a hard case.  I think they retail about £1080 now but it was old stock.

It reminds me of a Gibson S1 a bit but more versatile.  It can be strat, Tele or almost SG depending on the settings although it's got that definite bolt-on-neck vibe - fast springy attack but with good sustain.

The Pup's are great ( which I can say as there are no BK equivalents!), they are tonally right between a good single coil and a mini HB. 

I like the way there's nothing I can change on it, it is what it is......

And they even come with rubber bands you can put in the grooves, just incase you need a little more grip 8)
