Funnily enough I had something must like that happen to me a while back, me and my dad both worked for a tutoring service and we were both called in for a "meeting" only to discover we were both fired at the same time! Pops was fired cause he good with the paperwork but bad the system, and I was fired for being good with the system and bad with the paperwork. The irony left me laughing in tears.
On another note, what is "made redundant" mean as in job-wise? That's most definitely a UK phrase, I'm guessing means the company says your job is up in the air and you could be fired?
