Talking purely aesthetics here, but if you could have an amp built what would you go for? Orange tolex? Black Face plate, chicken knobs?

Something different or a Marshall clone?

Am currently tried to decide, kind of want something a bit different, but not weird!

Its actually more difficult than i thought :?

Black control plate, black dome knobs w/ white dots, clear plexiglass front panel, white tolex, black corners and handles.

I spend FAR too much time thinking about this sort of thing.

i have two visions,

one is all shiny chrome with knurled chrome knobs and real snakeskin covering.

the other is all brushed aluminium with black leather covering.

mmmmm :)

Personally, I think almost all amps out there look 'funny'. There's something very old-fashioned about the look. While Diezels are a bit more forward-looking than most of the other brands, there's still something that I find very underwhelming about the look of all amps.
I haven't yet decided what I dislike/like in particular, or indeed what a suitable alternative look would be, but needless to say, were I to do so, no-one else would like it and it would be a waste of my effort!

I like the idea of a white head, but the reality would be that after a few months of gigging and being shunted around in my car it probably wouldn't look so nice!

I'm kind of thinking maybe a dark/maroon type red colour with a black face plate - i don't like chicken knobs though,  which seems to bring the options down a bit.

I don't tend to like the Marshall gold faceplate if it has too many knobs. Black is ok if you are putting a lot in there, leaves it feeling a bit more spacey

I always fancied trying to build a combo or cab out of granite, just to see the effect on the sound. Wouldn't want to gig with it though.

Yeah, it's a nice idea in theory but unless you're in a position to flightcase the thing it's probably not going to end well.
