A fair compensation would be a good way to (try to) patch up the public image damage that caused the drop in stock, though.

I think the fact that he had to butt heads with them for a year to get nowhere is what is most galling.
It goes from being an inconvenience to a deep loathing of the company when you have to go through that.

I bet the airline dismissed him as just another musician - how much bother can he be , whereas if it were a high profile senator or politician they might have had more joy with regards compensation.

They didnt bank on him making a video and the internet.

Great advertising for Taylor guitars though - the sort that ad men dream of , but you cant normally buy.
Even non-musicians reading the papers and web know that Taylor is an expensive and high quality guitar

Indeed - I'm sure the cost of the guitar they gave him is fairly insignificant to the amount of money they'd have had to spend on equivalent advertising.  Taylors are nice guitars too, if a little TOO refined for my liking (I prefer a rawer tone).
