I do read the mail, but to be honest HH is an idiot whichever side you look at it from.

I think there should be a masculinist group :D

Anyway, I would welcome a woman into my workplace, if they want to have more than equal rights then they would really have to prove it by working in ALL walks of life, not just city / office work, they can't play the 'I'm a woman, I can't do that' card later down the line after using equal opportunities laws to get into the job that they clearly aren't qualified for.
And I do recall it to be proven that women have less spacial awareness (ie parking / driving) than men due to evolution of males' brains, so does that mean that its not sexist because it is a fact.

It's true that (as a MASSIVE generalisation) that men have better spacial awareness than women, and can process images they're looking at backwards or upside down better than women (hence better reverse parking and the like) but I don;t really see the point you striving to grab hold of  :lol:

Remember that "Spousal Abuse" (posh name for domestic violence) goes both ways and isnt always limited to physical violence.

Often more damage is done verbally than a punch or slap will ever inflict.

But the Daily Mail is only there to make your blood boil

The Mail is a hateful piece of trash.  Unfortunately it's popular and like all popular media it informs a great many ignorant opinions.

People seem to be very confused these days about feminism, equality of opportunity, and political correctness.  Treating people equality doesn't mean treating people the same.

I seem to remember that certain circles called The Spice Girls a feminist movement...

I don't think I was trying to make a point, just throwing a few things in there.

more seriously...there are a few differences between male and females which have come from evolution, it needs to be accepted that there is a difference somewhere.
Has HH addressed the issue of the women that want to fight for our country on the front line? IIRC They don't go in as an invasion force (happy to be corrected, too lazy to find out :P )

Whilst I believe the glass ceiling principle to be quite serious, I don't think it can be used as an excuse.

i'm struggling to think up a decent reply. suffice to say, i don't agree with the mail, especially on this issue. EDIT: i don't really see what their point is about the violence against men thing. I mean, any teacher i ever had told us not to fight or hit other people, they're doing that already presumably. the big problem with the mail, more so than the politics, is that it's sensationalist- it knows it'll sell more papers if it sounds annoyed and gets other people annoyed, regardless of whether it actually agrees with getting annoyed, kind of thing.

All newspapers are bullshitee to be honest, there is always a bias and lack of straight facts.
The Mail does seem to be the worst for fear mongering, but most newspapers / news broadcasts require you to read your way around the perspective of the journalist.

of course, i'm not suggesting that the mail is the only biased paper, just it seems to be particularly bad. the guardian pisses me off plenty too, and it's from the opposite end of the spectrum.

I hate harman too (heck, most if not all politicians), but it's one thing to hate a single person, quite another to use that to blame all women or suggest that feminism sucks.
