AMuse ing
« on: September 04, 2009, 04:03:12 PM »
After a very lean season for the tourist industry in this part of the country we are being invaded by hordes of Emmets and Grockles. Teignmouth has been sealed off for the Muse concerts tonight/tomorrow with 20000 tickets supposedly selling out in 10 minutes. All hotel/guest house accommodation was sold out a couple of weeks ago. (Teignmouth is their home town). Think my son might be going as the drummer in his group is a schoolmate of Dominic Howard.
On Sunday Joss Stone (who lived a couple of miles from me) is singing at the opening night of her mother's club (Mama Stone's) in Exeter.
All we want now is Chris Martin (and Gweneth Paltrow) to come and spoil it by visiting his parents in Exeter

..Think I'll go and lie down 'til it's all over...... :?

Ar... good ole Exeter... wasn't that bloke from Radiohead down there wunce as well?

It could be wurse, me and my various mates (if I knew where they wuz at) could come down and resurrect The "mighty" Chillun and possibly even the "extremely metal" Incubus... I know the sound engineer is still down there with his family, and good ole Olaf Capri...

Not sure we'd draw 20000, mebbe not even 20... but you'd probably have more in common with them

Have fun!

I think my wife would take issue with you on that, but I'm completely on your side...

Ah...

My fave band playing their homecoming gig, how i wish I could be there!!

On that note Muse are going to take their time to grin at alot of the haters they had while they were their, apparently they gave a copy of the first demo tape to the mayor who threw it out saying it was rubbish, so their gonna play a song off that demo just for him, haha!

Looks like the local businesses were rubbing their hands with the concerts - I see one of the hotels which overlooks the stage was offering "Exclusive Muse Evenings 4th/5th Sept with view from the balcony. Drink on entry and canapes (included in the ticket). Champagne bar - £80 per ticket"......Not very rock n roll but that might have persuaded Mrs T to attend

How was Matt's new super-keytar?

No surprise that Matt Bellamy's keytar is infinitely cooler than anyone else's keytar!
