New Pedal Day!
Krank Distortus Maximus
Awesome! It's a Revolution preamp in a stompbox!
So now I get the best of both worlds, the Chadwick single channel cleans, and I can get my Rev gain channel tone. Cheaper than a Tonebone amp switcher and way more portable.

I picked one of these up used a few months back, havent really used it much yet, was sounding good through my rig but not as good as just using the ts9dx as an overdrive.
think i need to have a bit more of a play around with it, its best to use it into a clean amp right?

Yes. I'm using it with a single channel Chadwick set for a real nice clean clean. It comes surprisingly close to my Revolution in sound and feel, but the cool thing is I can scale it back volume-wise a little on the box and just leave my clean settings alone on the amp.
On the Rev, I'm using a Krankshaft (tube screamer) on top of the gain channel to boost it for leads. I set up the dirt channel to have "just enough" gain for rhythms.
I've found that this is the best way to get a less "metal" and more "rock" tone out of the Rev. I love it's aggressive tone but don't care for some of the buzzy metal clips that are around.
With just a little time on the Distortus Maximus, I can tell you are correct. Works best with clean clean.
The Krankshaft is just the opposite. Awesome at taking the gain channel and kicking it into sweet, creamy, squeally lead tones, but I don't like it much on its own on the clean channel.

Might dig it out again this weekend. been trying to get a few different drive pedals to play around with for different tones, got this one and then sorta forgot about and its just been flaoting around in my room. my redbear does pretty good cleans, i always just get sick of tweaking things and wanna rock out. for prac lately ive just being going back to the tubescreamer since its so easy to get a good sound  straight up
trying to get a hbe big d to play around with next
