Things to do in Nottingham when you're...
« on: September 29, 2009, 03:56:17 PM »
...landing over to see Masters of Reality on Saturday next and flying back the next morning. Should be arriving around 12 o'clock, and quite possibly drinking copious amounts of beer all day. Are there any essential places to see, pubs, guitar shops, general lunacy? I've never been in the city before, was just hoping for a few wee pointers is all.

If you're after something to eat, then hidden away just off the main square is a place called The Alley Cafe.  A "Happy Hemp Burger" and a pint of Budvar are the ultimate hang over cure.

Not been out on the razz there for a while, so couldn't tell you the latest.  There's a lot of nice women in Nottingham, so have fun.
Advice worth what you just paid for it.

Ooooh Masters of Reality in Dottingham! Tootles off to see if he can get tickets.
There are 10 kinds of people who understand binary.
Those who do and those who do not.

Well, falling across the beer festival at the Castle pretty much took care of all that in the end.

Gig was fully amazing. Mr Chris Goss might well be a god of some kind who only walks amongst us for the craic sometimes. Incredible tone from a Tele, seemingly one with mini-humbuckers/firebird pickups, and a Supro Tremolectric. It's truly mystifying how he hammers out such huge riffage with such a lazy, laid-back style of playing.

The whole thing is soured slightly by some pricks deciding to relieve me of mobile and cash afterwards, resulting in some damage to the ould face, but I'm going to go on record and say it was totally worth it.

My housemate went to the London gig, and met the bassist who ended up getting him tickets to the Nottingham gig as well. He's also been invited out to the bassist's new studio in Ibiza apparently. Not bad.
Never listened to them myself.

Sorry to hear about the mugging :( Had some little tw@t try to mug me the other day too.
LOVING the Mules!
