Do you use any of the other pickups on the Dean?
What are they generic Dean p/ups, Dimarzios....?
The various models of Deans come with Duncan, DiMarzio's or Dean pickups.
I own 3 Deans. My high end model - The Cadillac - came with DiMarzio Super Distortions. My V and Vendetta came with Dean pickups. I believe the Dean Hardtail (similar to a PRS) comes with Duncan pickups on the high models.
I use only the bridge pickup for live shows. So for the gigs, I'll only be using my Miracle Man. When recording time comes around I'll get another Miracle Man for the neck position. I use that sound for some clean parts.

My latest thing is building a Miracle Man with Alnico V for the neck-awesome power dirty, switch to clean and the tone is really classic and the inbetween is excellent.
I've been working on the MM wind over the past few months, adjusting the wind to control the highs a little and add a touch more mid. The MM I wound for you(and yours too Ben!)has a slight offset which I never did before in this pickup. It's only subtle but it's allowed me to up the wind a little without sacrificing clarity. It was whilst doing this that I moved one into the neck of my Foster LP and swaped out the ceramic for one of our unpolished Alnico Vs-on paper it shouldn't work but in practice it's amazing.
After gig testing at one of our shows I'm really pleased with the results so all the MMs will be wound this way now-it's not that the old ones were bad-I gigged the original for the past 2 years solid-if I think something can be improved, even slightly, I'll do it.
Out of interest the Alnico V Miracle Man neck works with lower gain bridge pickups too-there's no volume mismatch and you don't have to screw it all the way down either. :D
