single humbucker?

Hi folks...

I've recently put some MQs into my Hagstrom Viking (after much research on here), and am now itching to change the pickup on my DeArmond M-55, which looks pretty much like this -



Now, I know that the classic pickup for a LP Junior-style guitar is a P-90, but I'm wondering if putting a single MQ in this guitar will be worth it, given that I have them in my semi-acoustic. I also have a Tele with a Boss set - would putting a humbucker in the DeArmond give me a better set of options all round?

I would be very tempted to put a TV Jones Classic Plus Filtertron in there.

You could use bucker, tapped and split (can you get split and tapped at the same time....dont see why its not possible), and phase switching, only the tap out of which is possible with a p90, but whether  you want to do that is wholly up to you. Bear in mind that the split tones of all but very powerfull buckers are weedy and gay, and wont emulate your p90 at all (parralel wiring on the bucker would probably be closer!), but the p90 doesnt have all the wiring options.
