That rustbucket is quite cute Philly - but I can't help thinking "what wood rusts?!" though  - I see what they're going for, but...

I half agree with blue: I wouldn't say they're overpriced, but they're too rich for me :D

I can almost say "I don't get the relic thing" as well... except I do, I've got one  (Roadworn 60s strat).

All I can say is that once I played it, I had to have it. I had to get over some of the relicking - notably the arm wear, I was happy with the dings, but the "arm wear" on relic strats, same as on the CS ones I've looked at, seems contrived to me. I'm sure there must be old strats out there with this arm-wear, but all the old ones I've ever seen have either got dings and the odd chip, or the finish has collapsed and flaked off in big chunks - no smooth wearing from excessive polishing...

Yep - you need a Fenderish thing old chap. By the way, Mexican Fenders seem to have dodgy jack sockets, both my Baja tele and Roadworn have, but find a cute one and they are really good value - the socket's replacable :D

I've managed to hold off GASing about a semi, but it might happen one day. I think the thing is, for me, I used to own a reasonable one (one of the first Westone Rainbows that came into the UK in the early 80s), and I've tried others since, and I think I'd want to spend more on a semi than my usual sub-£1K budget for "planks"

Then add to that, my SG and Explorer are covering all the bases my semi used to, and there's no more space in the living room, and, and... but a fender and a semi are a nice pair to take on stage (I did for almost 10 years).

I like that Fano as well, Twinfan. And metal guitars are not my style at all. I once had an Ibanez RG 320. Oh why oh why did I buy that horrible guitar??? (Guess it was because I was young and knew absolutely nothing about guitars).

I also like the idea of a two guitar band where the players uses different style guitars. In my old band I played my humbucker equiped Godin LG and the other guitar player a Fender strat. It worked out quite well. At least to me
