im not a big fan of killswitches. never really needed them

with gibson designs going a bit weird at times... what do people think of this?
i only just found out about it now.

I think it's pretty ugly, but I won't blame Gibson for that since it's actually somebody's signature model rather than one of their off-the-wall ideas.

Why two killswitches, I wonder?

And an oversized body and 27" scale length - is Buckethead a very big chap?

two kill switches is a bit, i dunno... overkill?
i think it looks ok though.

I prefer it to something like the alpine white customs

EDIT: I mean a normal les paul with normal controls in that white finish with white pup rings and so on

Looks fugly.
I find the guy's music really uninspired, too.
I too use chicken as a measurement.

i dont mind the guitar but i have no idea who they are trying to appeal to with the oversized body

how many buckethead fans are there that are the same height as him (thats the only target market i can imagine) and why does being tall mean your guitar needs to be oversized ???

It certainly doesn't need to be, but I can see some logic in a guy a foot taller than me (and presumably with hands the size of dinner plates) possibly wanting a bigger guitar.

I couldn't comfortably play a 335 because the body's simply too big.

(Not saying there'll be a queue of giant guitarists wanting this guitar.  I agree the appeal is limited.)

uuuuu, me likes !!!!

the switches can be replaced, without a hint of a problem, while you dont see an alpine white LP with a no inlay, 24 fret ebony board every day, with a white headstock no less, so on that basis alone, i'd like to have it

now there only needs to be a really $%&#in tall guy with piles of money that takes a jackson RR and makes it larger.. cos that guitar is TINY .. unless you're of laiho proportions.. then it's huge :P

I'd like to see a side-by-sdie comparison with a LP Standard - just so I can get context of the bigger size.

As for Buckethead - he is a tad odd. Just re-read this on his website:

"Years ago, Buckethead overcame great obstacles to escape the coop, spread his music across the world and begin construction on his controversial theme park, Bucketheadland"

True or not it is a bit  :?

I think I hate being indecisive.

I like it all, apart from the two killswitches making it look like a gamepad.

I like Buckethead but the fact it's Gibson will make me say little more than "Cool. Moving on"

It's £1,799.00 @ DV

laiho already did it! his ESP RR has an extra inch around the edge if I remember rightly

if this LP is oversized, what's the neck profile like? the numbers on the site mean bugger all to me

Oh Dear... we're walking on eggshells here!

The legion of Buckethead worshippers will be here in a minute and before they come and start gushing let me quietly say... I THINK THE DUDE's MUSIC SUCKS BALLS AND HE IS A MENTAL RETARD WITH SOCIAL PHOBIA.

Aside from that he's a phenomenal technician.

I've never been sure if he's really a crazyman with the bucket, mask and chicken coop nonsense... or if it's all an act which allows him to have a nice quiet life with no-one recognising him.  If it's the latter, all power to him.

As for his music, I haven't heard very much.  But what I've heard, I like.  He seems a lot more melodic than most shred guys.

Some of his albums are pretty good (Colma, Electric Tears, Bucketheadland), but some of his albums are pretty uninspired and seem he is just releasing them for the sake of it (Funnel Weaver, Monsters and Robots, etc). Pepper's ghost is alright also.
