NGD Fender Richie Kotzen Tele
« on: November 22, 2009, 03:03:44 PM »
It's got the fattest neck i've ever come accross, but it feels great. It needed a little fret dress and general set up once it arrived but nothing major. The Twang King and Chopper T Dimarzios sound quite nice actually, the tone control is not a tone control but a series parallel toggle. I've never been a Sunburst fan, so the Sea Foam Burst was the only other option.

That looks well wicked as I believe young people are apt to say these days when they gaze upon something that is well wicked.

+1

Although I do prefer the sunburst version I like the tuner buttons on the sea foam.

That's certainly different!  Not sure if I personally like the looks, but have fun with it!

Congrats, that's a sweet guitar.

I've always liked Kotzen's tone, and there are some great touches on that sig model that really set it apart. I fancied one of these until I found out about the fat neck - I just know there's no way I'd be able to play it properly (small hands)!

Nice!  :D   I've often been quite tempted to get a Kotzen Tele, I'm a fan and I like his taste in guitars.

I must admit I never realised before that the Sea Foam one was a burst, I always thought it was a solid colour.

I saw Richie live a few weeks ago, and he had a new Tele, a prototype. He wasn't sure if it was going into production, in fact he seemed quite downbeat about it... if it was available I would've gone for that one.

Same specs but no scratch plate and a fantastic flame top, which you can't quite see in my cr@ppy photo!

Cool, where was that?

Any idea what that "ring" around the volume control on the prototype is?

The gig was the Robin 2 in Wolverhampton, great venue. The thing under the volume is something called N-tune... http://www.ntune.com/

I asked why not just have a tuner pedal? his response was something like, 'thats just another thing to plug in'. He's now a guitar straight into the amp guy.

Interesting!  I just had a look on their website, it looks like they'd be a right pain to install in the cavity of a Tele.

I saw Richie last Tuesday. He kicks so much ass, it's not possible to describe! His voice is as well top notch.

Great guitar, honoring an awesome musician.
