I guess you're looking for a reasonably priced one then?

Roadworn may well be the way to go, but get a blonde one - you know it makes sense  ;)

I'm really in two minds about it. I might just save for a couple of years and get a CS. I know that if I go for something as a compromise I am likely to not keep it. I'll keep a look out for roadwron teles though as I might have an Andy moment and find the one for me. A maple board is a must, as far as colours go it will either be blonde, lpb (surprise!), white or red.

I think I hate being indecisive.

Yeah, watch out for those Andy moments!

I can't remember whether I said this in the relevant NGD when I got the Roadworn Strat - I just went to try it... but it kinda snared me

Luckily I had an idea of what I was prepared to pay for a "bashed up Mexican Fender" if it turned out to be something that wanted me... What I mean is, I'd already dispassionately figured out what I was prepared to do if the guitar found me - I wouldn't have been prepared to actually try it that day if I hadn't. And the funds were available in "non-credit form". If not exactly "earmarked" for "sunburst 60's style strat-thang, preferably with Fender on it", they had been sat around for a year or so with that vaguely in mind as long as no unexpected bills appeared!

I might have been in a bit of a state 10 mins into trying it if I didn't have all this behind me!

But so is it's cousin, which is my #1 guitar for my rock covers band.  The Fender Custom Shop stuff rocks a fat one!

[/quote]     Twinfan,is this aCS? It looks fantastic. Heres my 73 Tele.It has a few bumps and digs and is light, responsive and dipped in tone. The pups are BK Blackguards. I like it not because its old,but because its a great Tele to play.
