This is my live setup at the moment.
« on: November 25, 2009, 12:02:48 PM »
I've now played two gigs with this setup and I must say that I am more than pleased with how well the guitars and amps work together.

The only thing I will add to this is probably my WV Celtic Esquire once it is finished. I want to use a tele/esquire style guitar for my slide playing, plus I really miss gigging an esquire style guitar.

I took these pics at our drummers house this morning:

BKP's own: Irish Tours, Mule(b), Black Dog(b)
BKP's had: Riff Raffs, Nailbombs

Looks good and I like the way you keep your hefty rig at the drummers presumably to protect the Feng Shui at your own home :D

Presume you don't actually set up the AC30 on top of the Marshall at gigs though :?

I don't actually keep my setup at our drummers house, I was just staying at his last night because we were playing a gig in his town last night. I plugged in the amps and guitars for a quick jam this morning.

No at gigs I usually have the Marshall and Vox next to each other ontop of flight cases.

Mmm, let's see... Vox AC30 and Marshall, and a worn strat with no much left of the possibly sunburst finish and that, AFAICT from your sig, has ITs on it. Just a wild guess: you love Rory Gallagher, don't you

Have: Crawlers, BGF 50/52s, Mules, ABomb, RiffRaff
Had : Slowhands (n&m), Trilogy (b)

That would be a Rory Gallagher tribute strat
I think I hate being indecisive.

Yep it's the CS Rory tribute strat. I have a US standard strat that has IT's in it.
The Feline Lion Cub in the second pic is the guitar with the Mule bridge pickup.

You've not got tempted to switch the pickups round yet?

(I would be, let's see now... "Rory" strat, I've got some pickups called "Irish Tours", er...!!)

I swapped mine around a few weeks back (Fender Japan 62 had the ITs, Roadworn had its Tex Mex). Luckily neither set were potted into their covers, so it was a straight swap and the Roadworn was able to keep its worn covers.

I only did it as an experiment, but I'm really glad I did. I liked the Tex Mex's anyway - loads more expressive than Texas Specials - but they suit the warmer sounding Japanese strat better. And the ITs in the Roadworn are just peachy, far more than they were before.

I had been thinking I wanted a more woody 60's strat tone for at least one guitar, and that probably meant Mother's Milks... but the ITs in the Roadworn seem to have more range than they did in the Japanese strat - woody 60's strat and slightly hotter strat.

That AC30 does look very righteous, by the way :D
