Thanks for the heads-up :D
I saw it when it was first broadcast - no idea how, I was only 12, and the TV in our house was very much controlled by what my Dad wanted to watch. Seeing as I wasn't really into rock music at the time, I don't really imagine me arguing too strongly to see it, and I really can't see my Dad going out of his way to watch those camp nail-varnish-wearing chaps at the time!!
BUT... I strongly believe that this concert, and the video for "We are the Champions" a year or two later are almost entirely responsible for enticing me into music-performance rather than playing cricket like wot my Dad wanted!
Is it the same concert that won the BBC video vote on Live Aid? - they offered us several famous music things from through the ages, and the Queen gig beat all-comers... I can remember watching "In the Lap of the Gods (revisited)" that afternoon and learning something very useful for a lead vocalist - "if you know you can't reach the recorded high-note, sing a harmony instead, with conviction, it's just as good..."
Looking forward to it :D
