AC/DC Odissey
« on: November 28, 2009, 07:15:35 PM »
Hey!!
As Ian requested, I'll tell how the heaven became hell and then heaven again!

After 10 years wanting to eatch a AC/DC concert and with full belief that they'd never hit South America again, they finally decide to show up... Just 1 concert on Brazil, beside 3 on Argentina and 2 on chile... It was a really mess trying to buy a ticket on Ticketmaster, the website was never working and I had to buy it from a guy that makes excursions to concerts...

Well, yesterday was the day of concert, as I've lost my wallet on Rock In Rio III, I've decided to go ONLY with my driver's license and R$80 to buy beer and food.
Was very very happy, looking like a child and was everything fine (beside the biggest queue ever) untill the enter. Then my ticket showed to be a false one and I wasn't able to enter, one guy of the excurtion at my side almost was beaten by the security as he got nervous and start yelling that he would enter anyway... Pure sadness and hopeless feeling...

Was shown the exit and tried to find the guy of the excursion, a girl called him and he answered the phone at first and said where he was... We went there and after some time finally found him (at this time his cell phone was off) and he said "I cannot do anything, will try to give the money back"...

Then mental chaos, I'd probably never be able to watch AC/DC again, I had no money, no credit card and even no phone... We were completely lost, some people that had money bought tickets from the people selling it there, I had no money...

Suddenly a guy of the excursion said he would pay to me a ticket and I should pay him next day, detail: I've never saw him before and even didn't know his name!!! We bought on the official ticket office, because he only had credit card, people paid aroud R$150-170 on people, we paid R$300 for the terraces (at first the tickets on the field was R$250, but at the time of concert they almost double the price ¬¬ )...

UFA! Then we could enter, even on a worse place, but watch the concert was the biggest worry at the moment!!!

Then PURE ROCK and pure tonal awesomeness!!! Jesus, the guitars were loud as hell and the concert was unbelievable good, Angus had the devil in him that night!!!!!!!
Relief and happiness!

Was a little trouble to find the people after the concert to get the van back to my city, but ended ok...
Walked the Highway to Hell and the Saluted Those About to Rock!!!! :D

Cheers,
Of course I've already paid the guy that bought the ticket to me!

Yes, glad you enjoyed it!  :D  I've seen them a few times but Wembley last summer was too big, don't suppose there'll ever be another chance to see them in a smaller venue.

Did you get your money back from the guy who sold you a fake ticket?
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

The guy who sold the ticket said he's talking with his lawyer tomorrow and then will tell when he's going to pay... I didn't made a report on police because I think if I do so he'll only give the money back after a legal action and it's really slow here, so I'm going to try get it nicely :?

Sounds like it's baseball bat time...

But, on the other hand, if you're fairly certain that he didn't know it was fake, it might be hard to put the right amount of effort into your "batting-technique"

Hope it works out ok with as little hassle as possible :D

You thought the "Bear Jew" was mean? You haven't seen the "Bear Brazilian" yet

I think he knew it was fake and paid to see what would happen, because when the whole people come back on him saying it was fake, he said he couldn't do anything, but after about half of the bunch go and buy a ticket by themselves, he put people inside the arena as "cleaning workers", while these still had to pay 100 bucks to the owner of that company...

That's a real rollercoaster ride of emotion in that story.  So happy you were able to see the gig and that they didn't disappoint.

Wow that guy who bought you the ticket must seriously like you, or have deficits in his karma to compensate ... whatever, congrats on having seen a great show!!!!!

I met the guy on the van going to the concert, no idea why he helped me, he didn't know nothing about me, just the phone number that I gave him...

That guy that got you in might deserve some  of the best Caipirinha, only you can find. What goes around comes around  Glad you enjoyed ACDC. Saw them almost a month ago in New Orleans, very close and as you said Loud as Hell even with the etymotics on. Cheers!! Todos Santos!!!
