Starting Over
« on: December 16, 2009, 12:42:45 PM »
Hi guys,

Well, it's been a hell of a year... Hell being the operative word here.

Laid off twice, nasty illness shutting me down and getting in the way (and most definitely ruining) 2 chances to get into 2 amazing bands (one of them being Nolly's "Red Seas Fire"), and getting into a sizeable debt because of unemployment that threatens to leave me floundering to scr@pe by for at least the next 5 years unless some good Karma comes around to make up for everything.

But there is still hope!

I have decided that I'm going to strike out on my own once more, musically. I've had enough of disappointments in that department and I have decided it's something I can either lament or do something about. I have chosen the latter. Away with unreliable, lazy bands, I have re-launched my solo stuff and hope to take on some enthusiastic and reliable musicians to take it live in the new year.

Obviously I am now trying to garner interest from potential fans and fellow musicians, so here's my shameless plug:

Please add me and pass on my myspace details to anyone you think might be interested. I'm not a great musician, but I have passion, creativity, thirst and ideas by the bucket-load and I'm not going to let my musical inabilities stop me having a damn good go. This coming year I plan to go out of my way to write music that is difficult and challenging for me to play, hopefully that way I will push myself to become a more competent musician.

Here's to change, may it bring everyone the things they deserve!  :drink:

I personally hope that we dont get the things we deserve. That would mean that when shitee comes your way you deserved it. I prefer an unjust universe, it absolves me of responsibility!

Anyway

Shame about the knock backs mate

Great that youre not letting it knock you back. Keep at whatever it is you feel the need to do.

Quite welcome.

Its a rare occurance I have anything sensible to say. Normal service will resume imminently.

Y'know, if what you feel the need to do is jack off every hour on the hour and become a competitive crisp eater you probably shouldnt.

There we go!

Err, best say something useful now...

+1 on the persistence.  (I don't have it that's why I'm nothing more than a talented Genius)

Luck evens itself out so I'd say you might well just be in for an excellent 2010.  Tell yourself that the bad is behind you and that it's onwards and upwards.  Plus you have the ability to influence your luck by positive thought and persistence.

And as somebody once said....

“It's a funny thing, the more I practice the luckier I get”.
