which pup for schecter
« on: December 18, 2009, 01:57:50 PM »
Hi this is my first post here. I've got a cheapy Schecter Blackhawk, i think it feels as good as my KE3 to play n i think its better for drop c, but the pickups are the cr@ppy stock 1s. I was wondering if you guys could suggest some new 1s for me?

I play mainly hard rock n metal. Stuff from Bullet For My Valentine, A7X, Disturbed, that sorta thing.

I was recommended to get Warpigs by a guy at Guitarguitar. N i play a Roland Cube 60.

Thanks.

yer, i would have 2 agree dimezakk. i wouldn't think warpigs would be tight enough - at least from what i've heard, i don't own a set myself. Also seeing as how the miracle man is modelled after the emg 81/85 combo which is what paget and tuck use, i think it would suit that type of metal.

Hard rock makes me think Holy Diver, but drop C and metal makes me think Painkiller instead. I definitely don't think there's anything "loose" about Warpigs, but I'm sure the Painkiller would be a bit tighter for lower tunings.
BKP Team: Bridge MQ, Black. Bridge HD, Raw Nickel.
To Do: Bridge Nailbomb in chrome (?)

holy diver sounds awesome at low tunings
but nothing like those bands

this was recorded drop C
sounds a bit loose, but that's the power amp (that little head), not the pickup
it was very tight through the framus and the peavey rockmaster preamp I had

I would say a Miracle Man set
