not being in a band

i couldnt find anything out about garageband for windows.
maybe i could find a cheap mac? hmmm.

at the moment i use a pod UX1 and reaper just to record notes, but being able to put down bass and drums EASILY would be amazing.

is it easy to make your own loops?

Nah garageband for windows seems like a total myth. I use a UX1 too and i find it does the job ok. I'm pretty sure you can make your own loops, but i think you really would need a midi controller to make the whole process easier.

ux1 is ok. that works fine with garage band? do you still need the pod software or can garage band just drive a UX1?

Both, what I tend to do is use the pod stuff for my amp models and delay as it's more flexible, but use the Garageband plugins for modulation or compression. The GB plugins aren't bad, but they work alright I guess.

There are vastly more powerful pieces of kit out there, but I like it cos it's super simple to use and the sound isn't that bad. Though saying that I don't really mix or EQ anything i record, just set the levels and roll with it.

wait, wait... so dirty money don't exist anymore or they put you out of the band?
anyway being bandless sucks. really. after my original band died i've been in and out of various bands for years, the only one that really worked was a craappy cover band i put on with some friend of mine...
now i'm playing in a new band that has some potentiality to last, i think... we're not gigging yet but we're working very well together, and i even got back in my original "composer" role! just some month ago i had no real hope i'd ever found another REAL band...

i left after being the only person who ever does anything and most other people making things difficult. musically it was going away from what i wanted too. So i left. most people acknowledge that DM was pretty much just my effort. not sure i would agree with that. but without me the band ended on he spot.
