I've just received and fitted the Faber Aluminium bridge.  For those interested here are my initial impressions over the Gotoh stock zinc tailpiece.  Same strings were used in the interests of continuity:-

Much lighter, probably a 3rd of the weight of the stock bridge
Nicely made and nice matt finish
Slightly woody with more acoustic zing
Lighter, less full mids
quicker attack

Overall a more vintagey (based on the old 335's ive played), airy semi tone all though the difference is not night and day.  Some may prefer the fuller sounding tailpiece.

Yes, I ordered direct, I had to send a paypal payment in Euro's with a reference number in the subject.  It took about a week from order to delivery so time to get in touch with them!

Not really, the puch is still there it's just a little less full. There's a little more clarity and focus.
But I'm talking a very small amount of difference, something I'd probably only notice for a while just after swapping over.

Yeah, that's how I paid too.  I did email the chap last week and he said he'd sent it.  I'll give it a few more days, because I thought maybe he was really saying "I'd forgotten all about it but I have sent it now".  :?

Hmm, this is annoying, those parts aren't cheap.  I don't know if PayPal buyer protection applies for non-eBay transactions.

if you used a credit card, your card company will sort any 'goods not received' disputes out for you - they effectively own said goods until you pay your CC bill.

It was straight from my bank account via PayPal, unfortunately.  :(

Usually when I make higher-value PayPal purchases I fund them with my credit card, but this time I forgot for some reason.

I really like the RS Guitar lightweight TP on my Les Paul but Prefer the standard zinc ones on ES guitars. The lighter TP on the LP added bags of sustain and clarity and almost an acoustic vibe, but seemed to take away from the tone on my ES-339.

Just my $0.02 worth.
