Next pups for my custom build
« on: November 19, 2005, 07:02:32 PM »
I am building a Strat shaped guitar with tele hardware and pickguard. This is gonna be a shared guitar between me (strat) and my bro (tele). Im definately gonna have a Mississipi Queen bridge with a voice switch (i talked to tim about this at Music Live so hopefully it nwill be feasable) and then a strat middle and tele neck pups. Electronic wise, it will have a 4-way switch, the voice switch and a Sam/Joe switch. This will switch between the neck and midle pup goiing into the 4-way switch.

Which Tele neck pup will match the Mississipi Queen brdige?
Which Strat mid pup will match the Mississipi Queen brdige?

Thanks for the help

Best Regards

I have a Slowhand middle strat pickup with my tapped MQ bridge.  In the neck I have a mini-mule.  Not sure which tele I would go for, probably the Yardbird.
So many pickups, so little time

Hi Joe,  I like the slowhand more than the Irish Tours I have.  As Tim says, it is the British sound not the Texas sound.   Think more Blackmore/Tony McPhee.  I still like the Apaches for the classic strat sound though.  Cheers Phil
