Which humbuckers for Burny LP?
« on: February 11, 2010, 02:46:23 PM »
I bought some Mules a while back to go in my Vintage 'distressed' Lemon Drop and they've been great.
I recently bought a new Burny Lemon Drop and want to replace the pickups.  Mules would be fine but I'm wondering whether to try something different.  Maybe something hotter like a Black Dog?  I assume the name implies it's a bit Jimmy Page-y?
I like to be able to get Jeff Beck grunt when needed but Peter Green nasal-bell also.

I would think that PG Blues would be the way to go to get Peter Green tones, but output is (IIRC) similar to Mules and other barnyard creatures.

To get that Peter Green nasal tone the PG Blues would be your best bet as in middle position they are out of phase giving you that Peter Geen nasal tone.
